ASSOCIATIONS & PARTNERSHIPS
Board of Human Relations Commissioners (HRC)
The HRC advises the Mayor, City Council, and CDD General Manager on matters that promote the general welfare and safety of all L.A. residents through activities and programs designed to reduce discrimination, prejudice, tension, and violence. The board promotes positive inter-group relations; supports efforts to create a City free from all forms of discrimination based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, immigration status, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or any other arbitrary factor.
Commission on Community and Family Services
The Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor, City Council, and General Manager of CDD on poverty and the needs, concerns, and interests of children, youth, and their families. The board also represents the interests of L.A. citizens in directing federal funds for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that are earmarked for programs and services in the city’s poverty sector.
Commission on the Status of Women
This Commission is a seven member advisory board that acts to ensure all girls and women have full and equal participation in the affairs of City government and promotes the general welfare and human rights of all women and girls in the greater community through policy, advocacy, and education.

Services to small businesses and entrepreneurs, formally known under the name of the Los Angeles Business Assistance Program (LABAP) are now offered through the BusinessSource Program at six centers throughout the city of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Youth Opportunity Movement promotes youth achievement by working with families and community partners to create opportunities that help youth reach their education, employment, and personal development goals.

The Community Development Department has more than 300 staff members at our offices in downtown Los Angeles and throughout the City.

Economic Development Division (EDD)

FamilySource System
Lisa Salazar, Acting Director
The FamilySource System programs provide social and supportive services to low and moderate income City residents. The System funds counseling & crisis intervention, child & youth focused activities, health services, case management, legal aid, and information & referrals for individuals and families in need. FamilySource assists nonprofit agencies in the acquisition, design, renovation and construction of neighborhood facilities including child care and senior citizen centers, transitional shelters, libraries, health clinics and youth activity centers. Workforce Development Division (WDD)

The
Workforce Development Division, working in cooperation with the
Workforce investment Board (WIB) oversees Employment
Services offered through CDD's 18 WorkSource Centers and 13
OneSource Centers. WorkSource Centers offer comprehensive employment
services for adults. All programs are free to job seekers but some
programs may require pre-qualification based on income. OneSource
Centers offer programs for young job seekers.
The division also provides targeted economic development and assistance to the City's business community. Targeted business services are carried out in conjunction with the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and L.A.'s Business Team (the Mayor's special division in charge of business growth and retention in the City).
OneSource & Summer Youth Employment

The Community Development Department's Youth Services promote L.A. youth achievement by working with families and community partners to create opportunities for youth to reach their education, employment, and personal development goals. In partnership with more than 30 local community-based organizations, our focus is a vocational, educational, career and social support system that emphasizes the talents and capacities of the community's youth.

computer and data systems support .
Financial Management Division
Catherine Bondoc, Director
The
Financial Management Division is responsible for the fiscal management
of the $170 million in state and federal grant funds which are
distributed to approximately 450 contractors.
Human Resources Division

The
Human Resources Division provides CDD's employees
with a full range of services including personnel and human resource
administration, and staff development and training. Affirmative
