Affirmative Action Program

Affirmative Action is the taking of positive steps to eliminate discrimination. The City of Los Angeles prohibits discrimination by contractors and subcontractors against any person or group based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, ancestry, national origin, age, physical handicap, marital status or medical condition.

This Affirmative Action Plan is a policy establishing specific standards and procedures to be taken if there is a case of discrimination. It may include provisions for positive recruitment, training, promotion, and procedures for internal record keeping and auditing to ensure compliance.

Affirmative Action Program Instructions and Forms

As a bidder for a Los Angeles City contract, you are required to comply with the nondiscrimination provisions as defined in Division 10 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code. Pertinent provisions appear on bid, contract, and purchase order forms. Please follow the link above for further instructions and information.

• Prospective Contractors or Subcontractors Pertaining to Nondiscrimination In Employment
• Ethnic Composition of Total Work Force
• Affirmative Action Practices Certification for Contracts of More than $5000
• Equal Employment Practices Certification for Contracts of More than $1000, But Not in Excess of $5,000
