CARMEL SELLA
Carmel Sella is Vice President of Wells Fargo’s Community Development Group in Los Angeles. In this capacity, she supports Wells Fargo’s L.A. Metro community development portfolio by facilitating equity-equivalent investments to support job creation, economic development, and affordable housing production and financing of affordable housing developments for formerly homeless and low income families and individuals.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Carmel served as Deputy Mayor in the City of Los Angeles, where she developed and oversaw the adoption of the City’s $100 million Affordable Housing Trust Fund and worked closely with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in numerous policy arenas to promote affordable housing in underserved communities.

Before joining the Mayor’s Office, Carmel was a Special Assistant City Attorney and handled a variety of high impact litigation. Carmel previously was Deputy Chief of Staff to then City Councilmember Mike Feuer and managed the Councilman’s legislative program and City budget issues. Prior to working in the public sector, Carmel was an attorney in private practice at the Los Angeles office of two national law firms.
Carmel graduated cum laude from Wesleyan University, and received an M.S. from the London School of Economics, and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.
