Let Us Help You Find a Job

The Community Development Department operates 18 WorkSource Centers throughout Los Angeles. Find a WorkSource Center near you.

The centers act as your personal employment agency and our services are always free. We have thousands of employment postings in a variety of fields. Our qualified staff can help you develop a resume and guidance to find the job that is right for you. Each WorkSource Center has a Job Resource area where you can use:

  • telephones & fax services
  • copiers, computers & printers
  • search the internet & utilize online job boards and weblists
  • post your resume on-line

We may be able to provide assistance such as childcare or bus passes to those who qualify.

Job Training
Don’t let a lack of education hold you back. If you meet federal guidelines, we can help you pay for the training required to qualify you for a job. The WorkSource Center network works with a variety of colleges and individual vocational trainers in the Los Angeles-area to execute specifically tailored curriculums designed to qualify workers for high-demand jobs. Here are just some of the jobs we currently train for: Green Technology Manufacturing, Private Security Officers, Transportation, and Logistics.

Build a Career
The WorkSource Center network wants to improve your family’s financial picture. If you seek a more satisfying career than your current path or a higher-paying track, WorkSource will put its resources to work for you.

Assistance for Veterans
Take the next step and get a career, not just a job. If you h
ave served in the military on active duty, were released from service within the past 48 months, and have a copy of your DD-214, then you may be eligible for a program which offers:

1) Complete vocational assessment
2) Personalized career consultation and planning
3) A fast track career ladder training in a high wage sector
4) Earn while you learn
5) A guaranteed job placement

Healthcare Industry Training
Los Angeles County faces a critical shortage of Registered Nurses: it needs 20,000 more in addition to other Health Care and Medical Field Professionals. The WorkSource system organizes programs designed to teach skills for nurses, EMTs, and clerical workers. We have trained and placed 368 such workers since 2002. Those workers earn an average wage of $13.81 per hour.

Hire L.A. 18-24
Young adults ages 18 to 24 can participate in our Hire L.A. 18-24 program and get connected with local businesses that are ready to hire.

We Speak Your Language
WorkSource Centers offer translation services in a variety of languages commonly spoken within Los Angeles.
